Vitamin B12 Injections at Tinkable
Feeling exhausted no matter how much you sleep? Struggling with brain fog or low mood?
You might be running low on Vitamin B12. Our B12 injections deliver this essential vitamin directly into your body, helping you feel more energised, focused and balanced within just a few days.
Why You Might Need Vitamin B12
Your body needs B12 to function properly, but many people don’t get enough from their diet alone. As we get older, our ability to absorb B12 naturally decreases, particularly after age 50. This means you could be eating all the right foods and still end up deficient.
If you’re following a restricted diet for weight loss, managing conditions like Crohn’s disease, coeliac disease or irritable bowel syndrome, or if you’re vegetarian or vegan, you’re at even higher risk. In fact, research suggests around 85% of us fall short of the B12 we need from diet alone.
Signs You Might Be Low On B12
B12 deficiency often creeps up gradually. You might notice:
- Persistent tiredness that doesn’t improve with rest
- General weakness or feeling run down
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Shortness of breath, even with light activity
- Tingling or numbness in your hands or feet
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Low mood or feeling flat
If any of these sound familiar, a Vitamin B12 injection might be exactly what you need to feel like yourself again.
How B12 Injections Help You
Vitamin B12 Improves Your Health & Wellbeing
Unlike tablets or supplements that need to pass through your digestive system, B12 injections deliver the vitamin directly into your body where it’s needed most. This means you get the full benefit without relying on your gut to absorb it properly.
Within just two to three days of your first injection, you could start feeling the difference. Most people notice a real improvement after a course of two to three injections.

Your Treatment Plan
B12 injections work best when given regularly. We typically recommend starting with one injection weekly for four weeks, then continuing every two to three months to maintain your levels. Your treatment plan can be tailored to suit your needs based on how you respond.
We always recommend a full consultation before booking to discuss your health history, and ensure B12 injections are right for you. B12 injections should follow a medical diagnosis that includes a blood test to confirm deficiency.
Qualified Clinicians
At Tinkable, your B12 injections are performed by highly qualified doctors and nurses with specialist training. We’ve been providing medical aesthetic treatments across the Midlands for over 20 years, and we bring the same level of care and expertise to every injection we give.
Vitamin B12 is generally safe for most people. However, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, please speak to your GP before starting any treatment plans with Vitamin B12.
What To Expect
Most people experience no side effects at all. Occasionally, you might notice minor effects such as slight discomfort at the injection site, mild nausea, a temporary headache, or feeling a bit warm afterwards. These effects are usually very mild and pass quickly.
Serious side effects are rare. If you experience anything unusual such as severe pain or swelling, persistent dizziness, difficulty breathing, or a significant rash, please contact us immediately or seek medical advice.

Vitamin B12 Injection FAQ's
How quickly will I notice a difference after my B12 injection?
Most people start feeling more energised within two to three days of their first injection. However, everyone responds differently depending on how deficient you are to begin with. If your B12 levels are quite low, you might need a course of two to three injections before you feel the full benefit. Some people notice improvements in their sleep and mood first, with energy levels picking up shortly after.
Do I need a blood test before having B12 injections?
Ideally, yes. A blood test helps confirm whether you’re actually deficient in B12 and gives us a baseline to work from. However, we understand that getting a blood test isn’t always convenient or quick. During your complimentary consultation, we’ll discuss your symptoms, health history, diet and any conditions that might affect B12 absorption. If your symptoms strongly suggest deficiency and you have risk factors like being over 50, following a restricted diet, or having digestive conditions, we can proceed with treatment while recommending you arrange a blood test with your GP for confirmation.
Will the injection hurt?
B12 injections are given into the muscle, usually in your upper arm or thigh. Most people describe it as a quick pinch or slight sting that lasts just a second or two. Our practitioners are highly experienced at making injections as comfortable as possible. You might feel a bit of tenderness at the injection site afterwards, similar to the feeling after a vaccination, but this usually settles within a day.
Can I just take B12 tablets instead of having injections?
You can try tablets or oral supplements, but they’re not always effective. The problem is that B12 needs something called Intrinsic Factor, which your stomach produces, to be absorbed properly through your digestive system. If you’re over 50, your production of Intrinsic Factor naturally decreases. If you have digestive conditions like Crohn’s disease, coeliac disease or IBS, your gut may struggle to absorb B12 effectively regardless of how much you take orally. Injections bypass your digestive system entirely, delivering B12 straight into your muscle where it’s absorbed directly into your bloodstream. This is why injections are particularly recommended for people with chronic fatigue, anaemia, or confirmed absorption issues.
How long do the effects of a B12 injection last?
This varies from person to person depending on your individual metabolism, activity levels and how deficient you were to start with. Generally, the effects last between two to three months. This is why we recommend starting with weekly injections for the first month to build up your levels, then maintaining them with top-up injections every two to three months. Some people find they need them slightly more or less frequently, and we can adjust your schedule based on how you feel.
I'm vegan and always tired. Will B12 injections definitely help me?
If you follow a vegan diet, you’re at high risk of B12 deficiency because B12 is primarily found in animal products like meat, fish, eggs and dairy. Persistent tiredness is one of the main symptoms of low B12, so there’s a good chance injections will help you feel much more energised. That said, it’s worth checking there aren’t other reasons for your fatigue, like low iron levels, which are also common in plant-based diets. We’ll discuss this during your consultation and can recommend you speak to your GP about comprehensive blood work if needed. Many of our vegan clients find regular B12 injections make a huge difference to their energy and overall wellbeing.
Can I have B12 injections if I'm taking other medications or supplements?
B12 injections are generally safe to have alongside most medications and supplements. However, it’s important to tell us about everything you’re taking during your consultation, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines, and any vitamins or supplements. Certain medications like metformin for diabetes or proton pump inhibitors for acid reflux can actually reduce B12 absorption, which might be why you’re deficient in the first place. If you’re taking blood thinners or have any concerns about interactions, we’ll discuss these with you and can liaise with your GP if necessary to ensure your treatment is completely safe.
