The single biggest factor in whether your Botox looks natural or frozen, your filler sits beautifully or shifts the wrong way, your skin booster glows or bruises, is not the brand of product. It is the person holding the needle.
That is an uncomfortable truth in a UK industry where, legally, there is nothing stopping someone with a weekend certificate from injecting your face above a hairdresser’s. The good news is that you can sidestep the whole problem by choosing a clinic where every practitioner is a registered doctor or nurse, regulated, prescriber-qualified, and answerable to a professional body. The slightly harder part is knowing who those people actually are before you sit down in their treatment chair.
This is who we are at Tinkable. Where we trained, what we treat, and why we have built a clinic the way we have. By the end, you should have a clear sense of whether we are the right team for you, and a much sharper set of questions to ask anyone else you are considering. If you want to skip straight to talking to us, our consultations are free, with no pressure to proceed.
A family clinic, three generations in
Tinkable opened in 2004 on a simple premise that has not changed since: medical procedures belong in medical hands. Two decades later, that same belief is what shapes every hire, every treatment protocol, and every patient conversation we have.
The clinic is led by Rachel Fox, our Company Director and an Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber. Rachel’s path into aesthetics ran through emergency medical units and private healthcare before she discovered the field in 2005. That order matters. When you learn to manage an A&E shift before you learn to inject, you carry a different kind of attention into every consultation. You assume things can go wrong, you plan for them, and you act fast when they do. It is the reason patients who have had treatments go badly elsewhere often find their way to Rachel to put things right.
The third generation in the family is now treating patients alongside her. Sally Fox first qualified in 2020 and is completing her nursing degree at Worcester University whilst working at our Enville clinic and her own clinic in Wombourne. Most patients meet Sally on evenings and weekends. Most go home recommending her to a friend.
That continuity is genuinely rare in this industry. Clinics open, rebrand, change hands, lose practitioners to the next chain. Tinkable has had the same family at its centre for the entire 22 years we have been open. If you book a course of treatments with us, the person who treats you next year will, in all likelihood, be the same person who treats you in five.
The team you will actually meet
Every practitioner at Tinkable is a registered doctor or nurse with the General Medical Council or the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Most are independent prescribers, which means we can prescribe and administer the prescription-only medicines used in anti-wrinkle injections ourselves, rather than relying on a remote prescriber who has never met you. This sounds like a technicality. It is not. It is the foundation of safe injectable practice.
Rachel Fox, Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber and Director
Rachel leads consultations and treatments across Enville, Bridgnorth and Leamington Spa, with a special interest in tear trough filler, Sculptra and corrective work after poor treatments elsewhere. Her bedside manner is best described as gently honest. If a treatment will not give you the result you are hoping for, she will tell you, and she will tell you why.
Charlotte Grundy, Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber
Charlotte trained in A&E and emergency medicine before moving into aesthetics, and the calm of someone used to genuine emergencies is part of why patients feel so safe with her. She is also an aesthetics trainer for Acquisition Aesthetics, which means she spends part of her week teaching other nurses how to inject properly. You will find her at our Enville and Leamington Spa clinics, and her reviews tend to mention the same three things: listening, honesty, and natural lip and cheek work.
Karen Williams, Aesthetic Nurse Prescriber and Clinic Lead
Karen is one of the most experienced injectors in the Midlands by sheer treatment volume, with thousands of Botox and dermal filler procedures behind her. She leads the team at Enville and is often the first port of call for patients who want a clinician with a steady, methodical approach to long-term treatment planning.
Sally Fox, Aesthetic Practitioner
Sally combines her aesthetics work with her ongoing nursing studies, and her availability is concentrated in evenings and weekends. She brings a younger perspective to the conversation, which patients in their twenties and early thirties often appreciate, particularly when they are nervous about asking what they assume might be a “silly” first question.
The wider team
Beyond our core Midlands clinicians, you may also be treated by Dr Elizabeth Donald, Christine Roberts (Independent Nurse Prescriber), Jacqueline Montgomerie, Dr Tracey Hopwood or Liz Farish. Every one of them is on the Save Face register, which means their qualifications, premises and clinical processes have passed an independent 116-point assessment.
Why “Save Face accredited” is the question to ask
If you take one piece of practical advice from this entire post, take this one. Before you book any injectable treatment, anywhere, check whether the practitioner is listed on the Save Face register.
Save Face is the UK’s only government-approved register for medical aesthetic treatments, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority and recognised by the Department of Health, NHS England and the Care Quality Commission. It is open exclusively to doctors, nurses, dentists and prescribing pharmacists, and every clinic on the register has been physically inspected.
If something goes wrong with your treatment, the register gives you a regulated route to complaint and resolution. If a clinic is not on it, you do not have that route.
Tinkable has held Save Face accreditation continuously for more than ten years. We are inspected against the same standards as any other registered healthcare provider, and we hold their excellence award for our consistency. That is the floor we work from, not the ceiling.
What experience actually buys you
There is a quiet detail about our team that we think matters more than any qualification on paper. Each of our nurses performs between eight and twelve treatments a day, and has done for years. That is not a marketing claim, it is just the working pattern of a busy nurse-led clinic.
The reason it matters is that injectable medicine is a craft as much as a science. The textbook tells you where the supratrochlear artery sits in an average face. Your face is not an average face. Building real safety, and real artistry, takes thousands of hours of treating real, varied anatomy. Volume is what compounds that experience into something you can feel the moment a clinician picks up a cannula.
It is also why we encourage you to see the same practitioner each visit. Your face has a baseline that only the clinician who has treated you before truly understands. The person who placed your cheek filler in March is the one best placed to assess in October whether you need a top-up or whether you should leave it well alone. It is a small piece of clinical hygiene that makes an enormous difference to long-term results, and it is one of the reasons our reviews are full of phrases like “she remembered exactly what we did last time” and “the most natural I have ever looked.”
What a consultation with us actually looks like
You do not need to pick a practitioner before you book. Every consultation at Tinkable is free, with no obligation to proceed, and you can sit down with whichever clinician suits your location and availability.
A first appointment is essentially a conversation. We will ask what you have noticed, what bothers you, what you have tried, and what outcome you are hoping for. We will assess your face properly, in good light, often with photographs from multiple angles. We will tell you honestly which of our treatments we think would help, which would not, and what to realistically expect from each. If we think you should leave well alone, we will say so. We would much rather lose a single appointment than place a treatment that does not suit you.
There is no pressure to book on the day. Many patients go away, think it over, and come back weeks later. That is fine. The decision should always be yours, made calmly, with all the information in front of you.
Choosing the right team for the long term
Aesthetic medicine is not a one-off purchase. The clinician you choose now is, realistically, someone you may see twice a year for the next ten years. That makes the choice less like buying a product and more like choosing a dentist or a GP. Take it seriously, take your time, and ask the awkward questions before you commit.
If you would like to start that conversation with us, the easiest first step is to pick the location most convenient for you, whether that is Enville, Bridgnorth, Leamington Spa, Coventry or Daventry. From there:
- Have a quick look at our treatments page so you have a rough sense of what interests you.
- Book your free consultation at a clinic that works for you.
- Come in, ask everything, and decide afterwards.
You are not booking a treatment. You are meeting the people who might look after your face for the next decade. We would be glad to be considered.
