It is difficult to advise exactly how many Laser treatments will be required to achieve the desired result. Results will vary from client to client and depend on many factors and this is why it is important to give full details of medical history and other relevant information during the consultation. It is also important to advise the laser Clinic if there are any changes in medical circumstances as this could affect progression of treatment and inhibit results.
If you have any questions with regards to your personalised treatment, please do not hesitate to ask.
Clinically Proven for Highly Safe and Stable Long-Term Laser Hair Removal
Photoepilation, or 'hair removal using light,' ( Laser hair removal) has shown dramatic gains in popularity over the past several years. Excellent clinical results as well as low-risk success have contributed greatly to the sensation caused by this amazing procedure.
While many methods can eliminate unwanted hair, very few can eliminate the regrowth of unwanted hair while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. And of these, photoepilation ( laser hair removal ) is quickly becoming the most popular.
Lasers and light sources use the concept of selective photothermolysis to eliminate unwanted hair and its potential for regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin. During a treatment, light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This absorption raises the temperature of the hair follicle and thermally destroys the cells responsible for regrowth. The attributes of the light (wavelength, pulse duration and power) are chosen to ensure damage to these cells but not to the rest of the skin.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Many people in their mid thirties and older are now suffering from sun damaged facial skin which can present itself in many forms: fine lines and wrinkles are often accompanied by dry and rough skin, mottled skin tone and areas of abnormal pigmentation. Lentigines (sun or age spots) and freckles are common, along with superficial pigmentary areas. Vascular irregularities such as thread veins and rosacea spots can also contribute to overall skin tone problems, and up until recently, treatment options have been limited.
Our superior AFT laser will provide a course of laser Skin rejuvenation treatments comprehensively removing abnormal pigmentation and irregularities in skin tone, resulting in smoother, younger looking skin. Clinical studies on laser Skin rejuvenation have indicated high levels of collagen, an increase in the skin fibre’s elasticity and an ever desired improvement of fine lines and wrinkles following treatment.
The technology used in Laser Skin rejuvenation improves the appearance of photo-aged skin, removes age spots, most benign brown pigments and redness caused by broken capillaries. The wavelength of light used is optimised so that the energy is absorbed only by the unwanted melanin, raising the temperature to cause shattering of the pigment and resulting in a much more even and natural skin colour. This process also improves collagen and elastin activity at the sight targeted, improving skin tone and clarity, and reducing the appearance of fine lines.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation combined with a course of peels, makes laser skin rejuvenation treatment even more effective, as layers of the dead skin cells are already removed prior to treatment. This means that results can be obtained using lower energy levels and minimising the risks of side effects for your skin.
A pre and post coolant will be used to minimise any discomfort from the Laser Skin rejuvenation Treatment, and Aloe Vera cream applied before you leave. Side effects are rare. You are advised to wear a sunscreen 2- 4 weeks following treatment, as the skin subjected to high intensity light beam will become more sensitive to sunlight.
Laser Acne
Acne is a disorder of the skins’ sebaceous glands that affects over 80% of the population aged 14- 30. Although commonly considered to be an adolescent problem, 25% of the people affected by acne in their teens will go on to develop permanent scars. The effects on personal appearance caused by acne and the resultant scarring can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems if left un- treated. Current treatments show limited success for most people and involve long-term use of antibiotics, with their associated side effects.
It has been shown that the major cause of acne, Propionibacterium Acnes can be destroyed by application of light. The particular wavelength of light used well permeates the tissue to reach the bacteria responsible for the acne, targeting it safely and effectively. The high intensity light triggers the proliferation of particular molecules within the skin that attack and destroy the bacteria. The rest of the body is not affected by treatment as this process remains in the layers of the skin.
Laser Acne treatment is performed twice weekly over a number of weeks. A coolant is used during treatment to minimise discomfort, and Aloe Vera applied afterwards. Side effects from Laser Acne treatments are rare. You are advised that a sun block will be needed 2- 4 weeks following laser treatment as the skin will have been subjected to high levels of light energy and will be more sensitive to sunlight. However, on consultation with one of our qualified staff, pre and post requirements of laser acne treatment will be detailed further.
Laser Vein Removal
The various forms of vascular lesions, including rosacea and telangiectasia (thread veins) or ( Red Veins) are amongst the most common cosmetic concerns for patients. In recent years a vast array of pulsed and continuous wave lasers have been used to treat these vascular lesions. Although these treatments have been successful to varying degrees, at times patients find the results disappointing and the various side effects such as pronounced purpura (associated with vessel rupture) and pigmentary changes to be disturbing.
Recently, laser vein removal treatment has improved, proving highly successful in the treatment of vascular lesions. Our Superior AFT laser operates on the principal of selective photothermolysis in which target vessels are selectively damaged with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. In general, when laser vein removal light enters the skin, the majority of it will be absorbed by blood, melanin, and water. Different wavelengths of light (different colours) are absorbed by different amounts. Our laser vein removal system targets the specific part of the blood (haemoglobin), causing the vessel to thermo- coagulate (be destroyed with intense heat) and cause minimum damage to the surrounding skin.
Our laser vein removal treatments are quick and relatively painless, and highly rewarding as the results are visible instantly. The large treatment area allows ourNurses to treat a large area with a single pulse, saving you time and money. A number of laser vein removal treatments may be needed for optimum improvement, but these will all be discussed with you on your initial consultation, along with a patch test, which will determine the course of treatment needed by you.
Pre and post treatment cooling will be applied, along with Aloe Vera to minimise any discomfort. After your laser vein removal treatment a sunscreen may also be needed, and if this is the case will need to be worn 2- 4 weeks following treatment. This is because the skin will have been subjected to high intensities of light and will be much more sensitive than normal.
